LOUISE BURGE MEETS LOCALS IN LOCKHART
Independent candidate for Farrer, Louise Burge, will be meeting locals in Lockhart on Monday, August 9, 2010.

Mrs Burge will be holding a ‘meet the candidate’ night at the Lockhart Ex-Serviceman’s Club at 7pm and invited all interested members of the public to come along.

Mrs Burge said she was looking forward to meeting the locals and discussing the issues of the region, but particularly to speak about how, if elected, she ensure the region’s issues were taken into account during national policy development.

“The abandonment of the single desk is a classic example of how a region’s concerns were not taken into account when a national and international policy was being developed,” she said.

“There needs to be a strong independent voice who is taking the concerns of the people of the Eastern Riverina to Canberra.

“We need to make sure the Eastern Riverina part of our electorate gets a fair share of infrastructure funding to make sure the huge network of roads and bridges is kept up to standard.”
