Independent candidate for Farrer Louise Burge has taken a fresh approach to the election day ‘how to vote’ cards.

Mrs Burge’s unique ‘how to vote’ information gives voters two options for traditional voters to give Mrs Burge their number one vote, while still giving some support to their traditional major party.

Mrs Burge said the electorate deserved a change for better and strong representation, but knew voters may still want to give their traditional major party some support.

“We have designed our suggested voting cards so people can get the full value out of their vote – voting to support a change to strong independent representation, while still giving some support for their traditional voting preference,” Mrs Burge said.

“It is a unique approach and not about banter between the parties, it is about the electorate of Farrer and how we get the best result for its constituents, its towns and industries.

“We need to make sure the issues of this electorate are taken to Canberra, and the way to do that is to have strong independent representative who can be a loud voice in policy decision making and ensure the electorate, its industries and towns, do not suffer when national policies are developed,” she said.
